Our science for you

To ensure you benefit from the best possible treatment, we have conducted approximately 40 studies to date. Some studies have improved our understanding of follicle and egg cell development, others our understanding of the menstrual cycle, and still others serve to improve therapy and refine indications.

The following 10 scientific studies should give you an overview and objectively highlight the chances of success, ideal conditions for success, and other aspects. We have briefly summarized the studies and also included links to the original publications.

We would also like to refer you to the book "Natural Cycle and Minimal Stimulation IVF" by Prof. Michael von Wolff. This English-language textbook is available in... bookstore Available. A new edition is planned for 2028, the year in which the world's first IVF child, Louise Brown, turns 50 after IVF in a natural cycle.

Current Studies

We are currently conducting a prospective randomized study in Bern to determine whether even thinner puncture needles can further reduce pain during egg retrieval. We are also conducting a prospective multi-center study involving Swiss and German centers in Baden, St. Gallen, Munich, Ulm, Bonn, Neckarsulm, and Münster, comparing the success rates, costs, and burden of a 6-month treatment with IVF-Naturelle® versus conventional IVF. The results are expected to be published around 2030.

Studies from 2013 to 2026

Study 1: Flushing the follicles increases egg yield.

A 2013 study published in the journal "Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology" describes the egg retrieval technique used in IVF-Naturelle® treatment. We were able to demonstrate that follicle flushing increases egg yield and that three flushing steps are necessary to achieve maximum egg yield. Therefore, IVF-Naturelle® centers frequently perform additional follicle flushing during follicular aspiration.

2. Study: The cost per achieved pregnancy is lower with IVF-Naturelle®.
3. Study: Clomiphene citrate reduces the risk of premature ovulation
Study 4: Hormonal stimulation leads to an unnatural change in follicular fluid
5. Study: 3 IVF-Naturelle® therapies are less psychologically stressful than 1 IVF with hormone stimulation
Study 6: With IVF-Naturelle®, the unpleasant administration of progesterone after the egg retrieval is not necessary.
Study 7: Embryo quality is better with IVF therapy in a natural cycle than with classic, fully stimulated IVF.
Study 8: Follicle puncture without anesthesia is only associated with "mild" pain.
9. Study: Oocytes generated through natural IVF, as well as minimally stimulated IVF, have a better developmental potential than oocytes from a classic, fully stimulated IVF.
Study 10: For social and medical egg freezing, minimal stimulation is the best compromise between effort and cost when ovarian reserve is low.
