IVF-Naturelle® – how it works

Before IVF treatment begins, the decision must be made as to whether it is even necessary. Normally, the reproductive medicine specialist decides whether IVF treatment is required and also determines the type of IVF therapy. In our IVF-Naturelle® centers, however, the choice of IVF therapy is primarily based on the couple's wishes. We adhere to the principle that applies in all other areas of medicine and, in our view, should also apply to IVF therapy: Given the same effectiveness of different treatments, the simplest and most natural treatment should be performed first. This approach is illustrated graphically in Figure 1.

If the decision is made to undergo IVF-Naturelle® therapy, treatment within a natural cycle proceeds as shown in Figure 2. IVF is often started with a natural cycle to gain a better understanding of the woman's hormonal system. This also allows the couple to become familiar with the therapy and, by aspirating just one follicle, experience firsthand that follicle aspiration is easily performed even without anesthesia. If pregnancy does not occur immediately, a minimally stimulated IVF procedure can be considered. The treatment steps are described in detail in the menu items "The treatment in individual steps“ (see cartoons) described.
